Battalion Day!

Today Blake's Battalion got together and had a family day. The morning was spent watching the soldiers doing things like playing volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, tug of war, and relays. The kids had face painting and a bounce house. We got to have lunch - hamburgers and hot dogs and there were vehicles that the kids were able to see.

Jacob did NOT like the bounce house.

Playing on the rope bridge. (His feet are off the ground.)

Watching the soldiers run relays with sandbags.

Military cars! FUN!

Getting scooped away? No! Just playing!

This is what Josh did most of the time.

Daddy! I can drive!

This is FUN!

Climbing the rope.

The blanket WAS flat under Josh. Then I came downstairs after putting Jacob down for a nap and this is what I found. Don't worry - I untangled him and let him sleep without the blanket.

Life goes on.

Jacob decided that he wanted to draw UNDER Blake so he crawled over to where Blake was laying on the floor and forced his way under Blake's arm. He was very content to stay there for a few minutes.

Jacob LOVES to play with Josh.

This was just an accident picture where they're doing the same thing, but Jacob usually mimics Josh on purpose.

I can't believe Josh is 5 months already.

The other day I was sitting at the table reading a magazine and Jacob pulled a chair next to me and started reading a book. Good boy!

I call Jacob my silly boy - and for good reason. Take a look at the face that he's making to himself in the mirror.

Jacob loves hugging and kissing Josh. In the top picture he's kissing (not biting) and in the bottom it's almost like he's telling Josh that he WILL get a kiss whether he likes it or not!
